The Centre for Professional and Legal Development (CPLD) operates as a specialized institutional centre under the Asian Institute of Law (AIOL). Its scope covers a wide range of academic, professional, and developmental activities aimed at strengthening the legal profession.

SIX FUNCTIONAL WINGS

Training & Professional Development Wing

This wing is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality professional training programmes. It focuses on continuing legal education, legal drafting, court practice, advocacy, litigation management, mooting, alternative dispute resolution, and certification courses to strengthen the practical and professional skills of students and legal professionals.

Research, Publications & Students Law Journal Wing

Dedicated to promoting legal research and scholarly work, this wing oversees research methodology training, policy research, academic writing, and publications. It manages the Asian Journal of Contemporary Legal Studies (AJCLS), AIOL Students Law Journal (ASLJ), research competitions, peer reviews, and other academic initiatives.



Career Development & Placement Wing

This wing supports the career growth of students and young professionals through internships, fellowships, career counselling, mentorship programmes, job fairs, recruitment facilitation, CV and LinkedIn development, employer networking, and professional profiling.

Conferences, Seminars & Events Wing

Responsible for planning and executing academic and professional events, including national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, guest lectures, webinars, symposia, moot competitions, and other intellectual gatherings that foster learning and networking.

Media, Marketing & Communications Wing

This wing manages the Centre’s public image and outreach. Its responsibilities include branding, website content, social media management, graphic design, photography, videography, public relations, event publicity, and overall digital communication.

Finance & Administration Wing

The administrative backbone of CPLD, this wing handles budgeting, financial record-keeping, procurement, logistics, documentation, filing, and day-to-day administrative coordination to ensure smooth functioning of all Centre activities.
